International Advisory Committee
Radiotherapy research and development is a global field, and many countries have strengths in the different disciplines involved in radiotherapy. ACORRN recognises the importance of gaining an international perspective in radiotherapy research, and accessing global knowledge and expertise bases to further UK research.
ACORRN will work closely with key international experts via an International Advisory Committee to gain strategic advice and direction. This approach was highly successful in 2006-2008, resulting in the development of a strategic and business plan for radiotherapy research in the UK.
Professor Norman Coleman has agreed to chair the International Advisory Committee, and ACORRN is working with him to develop the membership and terms of reference of the committee. Professor Coleman is Head of the US National Institutes of Health Radiation Oncology Therapeutics Section, is Associate Director of the National Cancer Institute Radiation Research Programme, and is Special Advisor to the Director of the NCI.
