House of Lords launch 13th July 2010
ACORRN - Action Radiotherapy was formally launched as a charity at a reception at the House of Lords on Tuesday 13th July 2010, kindly hosted by Lord Wade of Chorlton.
The launch was an exciting event attended by stakeholders from Government, the NHS, charities, professional training colleges, patient groups and other organisations involved in radiotherapy research and clinical practice. The launch at the House of Lords has given us momentum and support, has made the new Coalition Government aware of the huge depth of expertise and support for radiotherapy, and has demonstrated to all the importance of the physical sciences working with the biological sciences to improve clinical care in the UK.
As host, Lord Wade introduced the charity. Speeches were then given by Professor Pat Price, Chair of the ACORRN - Action Radiotherapy Board of Trustees, and by Professor Norman Coleman, Scientific Advisor.
